Meet the Editor

Meet Linda

Before Linda Hill became an editor, before she grew into adulthood, before she even learned to spell, she embodied the spirit of an author. She (attempted) to write her first book at the tender age of four, sitting at the dining room table with pages of plain beige foolscap stapled together, encouraged by her parents to just draw pictures and stop asking me how to spell everything! In her defense, she quickly learned how to spell “I,” “and,” and “the” all by herself.

Fast forward to 2015. Linda’s passion for stories and the English language (fueled by a grammar course she took in 2011 when she found out that high school English wasn’t the be-all and end-all of learning how to construct a proper sentence), together with her innate desire to help writers succeed, led her to begin studies in Editing at Simon Fraser University. She passed with flying colours and established Penlight Editing. She hasn’t looked back.
